It is possible to use nested virtualization to run VMware ESXi as a Virtual Machine in Hyper-V.To some, this may be a viable option if you are unable to acquire any new hardware, or if you simply want to test new VMware products on your Windows 10 desktop. Although this process is not officially supported by VMware or Microsoft, it is possible to get an ESXi environment stood up using Hyper-V.
Have a View environment on 6.1.1 on ESXi 6.0 and am trying to build a Windows 10 pool to see if performance is decent. It's not that great in a console. I imagine there are no optimization scripts yet for Win 10, but eagerly awaiting such things.
I have the base image built and all looks fine there. When I go to build the pool (floating, linked clones), the machines get built and go through power on and then they hang at customizing. It looks like the machines are blue screening for some reason and I can't figure out how to check that.
Anyone else seen this kind of behavior? Do I need my ESX guys to update the hosts beyond the 6.0 that was release in March? What about vCenter? I don't see any newer View components beyond the 6/4/15 release and that is the release I am running on all View components.

ESXi-Customizer-PS download and customize your own esxi iso.
Hey all,
i know most of you are ether running VMware ESXI or Proxmox for your homelabs. i always found it an pain in the ass to log into the vmware websites and download the latest ESXI iso when i need it. i came across an Powershell script that downloads the latest or any ESXI version from the repo directly . the script also allows you to inject / download packs and drivers from the vfront vmware page as well within the script. so this way you can get sata drivers for an desktop or an network card driver that may not be in the esxi iso by default.
you can download it here, https://www.v-front.de/p/esxi-customizer-ps.html
an few tips i have found is that if you do .ESXi-Customizer-PS-v2.5.ps1 and have no flags, then it the script will build the latest iso which would be 6.5 with the patches as well. but if you need an older iso, you can use the -sip flag which is the show image profile option and will output an list of esxi versions that you can download such as 6.3 or even v5 if you needed to.
